Morning with Deer

Got up at 4:45 and I really didn’t want to leave my bed. Checked the weather forecast and it seemed to be the last day with good weather, so I decided to get off my bed :/ Got to the mountains before the sunrise and was walking in the darkness for at least another half an hour.

I knew there are many deer but I wasn’t sure if my equipment is sufficient enough for this kind of photography. It appeared that I really need a long zoom lens as these majestic animals are very skittish and you have to be very very careful and quiet while approaching them. Which was absolutely impossible to do. They always knew way in advance that I was coming, even before I spotted them 😦

Therefore I think a great zoom lens is the only solution :/

  1. Nikkor 80-400 VR with 1.7x teleconverter is a good way to give a try in wildlife photography with a sturdy tripod, specially on a DX sensor, imho. Then, a lot of patience, but it seems you have that 🙂 Nice pictures.
